MyAttic is a great secondhand boutique specialising in ladies clothing, handbags and shoes. With an emphasis on saving the planet one garment at a time, this New Norfolk store offers some incredible vintage garments at very friendly prices. The owner has a true passion for pre-loved clothing and, as she’s an expert in the field, you’ll walk away fully-informed about your bargain finds. Well worth the short trip from Hobart!

As the name suggests, Xotic Costumes predominantly specialises in the wonderful world of fancy dress hire – everything from 1920s flapper dresses to 1970s knee-high boots. However, in addition to the huge range of costumes (some of which are also available to purchase), you can also find a selection of clothing and accessories that add a unique touch to your everyday attire. Better yet, the owner’s advice is free and I believe that’s where the true value lies.

While predominantly selling interesting antiques and vintage items from all periods, Kookaburra Books and Antiques also has a small but ever-changing section of pre-loved retro and vintage clothing. The boutique’s focus is on quality items, so you are always guaranteed to find something unique at a great price, even on a Sunday (I love boutiques that open on Sundays!).

Hello Gorgeous Vintage is a boutique that stocks a beautiful range of pre-loved designer clothing, shoes and accessories. It’s been my shopping destination of choice for more than 15 years and I’ve never come away disappointed.
The owner has a fantastic eye for quality garments (I wish I knew her secret) and she can sometimes be found holding a stall at MoMa (MONA Market) and at Marion Bay during the Falls Music and Arts Festival.
